Domino’s New York Style Pizza – Full Review with Pros & Cons

3 July 2025

Okay! Let’s talk about pizza. Specifically, Domino’s New York Style Pizza. I finally tried it, and here is my full domino’s new york pizza review. It is honest, short, and straight to the point.

First Impressions

I ordered the Extra Large New York Style Pizza with just cheese. The first thing that I noticed is that it is big. It is a solid 16 inches. The slices were huge and wide.

They were finely cut into six instead of eight. That is supposed to make folding easier. And yeah! It does.

The pizza first looked pretty plain, thin, and flat.. Not much crust color and no garlic-oil brushing like their hand-tossed pizzas. It was just simple. You could say that it needs to be more interesting, depending on what you are into.

The Crust

So, now let’s talk about its crust. It is thin. But is it foldable? Yes! Obviously. It actually held its shape really well. It is not floppy, but also not crispy like a cracker.

It had a soft chew in the middle. But do not worry If you want crisp around the edges because it is! But here is the thing, it was with zero seasoning and just dough, really!

That is where I missed the flavor you get in other Domino’s crusts. The regular hand-tossed has that garlic seasoning. This one did not have it.

But Wait! I would give them credit for this domino’s new york pizza review. They nailed the structure. You just fold, bite, and chew. There is no mess and no grease dripping down your wrist.

Cheese & Sauce

Mine Pizza came with the default cheese blend. The mozzarella, provolone, and some cheddar mixed in it. It was okay. Although it was not stretchy or gooey, it melted fine.

What about the sauce? It is their “Robust Inspired Tomato Sauce.” I have had it before on other pies. It tasted a bit heavier here. A Slight tangy but not sweet. Nothing new if you have had Domino’s before.

Taste Test

Alright, here is the honest part of this domino’s new york style pizza review. The flavor was underwhelming.

Was it bad? No.
Was it exciting? Also no.

It kind of sits in the middle. It reminded me of a toned down version of their hand tossed pizza but with less flavor and a thinner crust.

So if you are wondering, is domino’s new york style good? I would say it depends on what you want. If you like thin crust that folds and is not greasy. Surely It is a go for you! But if you are chasing real NYC flavor, it is probably not the one.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • It has big slices.
  • You can fold it easily.
  • It is not too greasy.
  • You can decently chew it.

Cons:

  • It lacks flavor.
  • The crust is plain.
  • Honestly, the cheese did not wow me.
  • It was not super “New York” in taste.

How Much Is the New York Style Pizza at Domino’s?

I paid $13.99 for an extra-large one with one topping. That is with no coupons. You might get it cheaper with deals.

But if you are asking how much the New York style pizza is at Domino’s in general? You are expected to pay around $11–14, depending on size and location.

So yeah! It is affordable for the size. I will give it that.

Final Thoughts

If you are curious, try it. It is not a bad pie. But it is not the most exciting one out there. Definitely not a replacement for a proper New York slice, but it folds.

In my opinion, this is one of those crusts you try once or maybe twice. And then probably you will go back to your usual.

Yes, this counts as one of my Domino’s pizza reviews. I have tried most of their crusts and toppings. This one lands somewhere in the middle. This wraps up my full domino’s new york style pizza review.
